Avene awarded the Dervilla Donnelly medal

Congratulations to Avene Colgan who has been awarded the Dervilla Donnelly medal by the UCD School of Chemistry & Chemical Biology. The award is made annually to the top student from the BSc in Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology class. Avene was presented with her medal at the UCD Chemical Society Inaugural Lecture by Prof. Donnelly. This year’s inaugural lecture was given by Prof Janine Cossy. Gary Bradshaw from the McGarrigle group presented a light-hearted review of the Society’s activities this year as part of the evening of celebrations.

 

Final Year Students Poster Presentations

Congratulations to Jeff, Martin and Sarah who presented posters on their final year research projects yesterday at the final year poster party. The poster presentations were followed by the UCD Chemistry Society’s Inaugural Lecture which was given by Prof Janine Cossy. As this marks the end of their stay with the group we’d like to thank Jeff, Martin and Sarah for all their efforts this year, and wish them the best of luck in their exams. It was great having you in the group.
