Congrats to Vinny and Alex on the publication of their paper in Organic Letters today. A lot of hard work has gone into this so it is great to see it published. We developed a general route to 2-pyridylsulfonium salts and showed how the resulting salts could be used in the synthesis of bipyridines.
This research emanates from PhD funding for Vinny and Alex by NUI and IRC, respectively. This is Vinny’s second and Alex’s first paper, well done to both. The paper can be read online:
