Congrats to Ren, Di and Joe on the publication in Chem Sci, the Royal Society of Chemistry’s premier journal. The paper describes a novel method for accessing difficult to make glycosidic linkages from simple starting materials. We hope it will become an enabler for scientists needing access to oligosaccharides. The work was primarily funded by and SFI-CDA grant (CDA/15/3625) which supported Ren and Di. Joe is supported by an Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship (GOIPG/2019/2747). We also acknowledged help from former project students Saranna and Laura, as well as the Yannick, Jin, and Jimmy, of the UCD NMR and Mass Spectrometry teams.
