Eoghan a Fellow of the ICI

ICI LogoEoghan has been made a Fellow of the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland. The institute is the professional body representing chemists in Ireland. It traces its roots to meetings in 1922 that led to the formation of the ‘Chemical Association of Ireland’, which later became the ‘Irish Chemical Association’ and then in the forties the ‘Institute of Chemistry of Ireland’. Eoghan has also become a council member of the institute. The institute’s AGM took place last night in DCU, when Dr Noel Fitzpatrick of UCD was made an Honorary Fellow of the Institute (of which there can be no more than 10 living). The AGM was preceeded by a very stimulating Boyle-Higgins Award lecture which was given by Prof Dermot Diamond of DCU.
